Registration in Michigan
I have been trying to get information from the State of Michigan on registering a special built vehicle. I built an "Assembled Trailer" years ago with mild dificulties in registering it.
Any Michiganders built a Cobra and registered it in Michigan versus another state and converted it to a Michigan registration? I am an old member under a new user name - it was easier to register that way than pursue my old user name.:LOL: |

go to the Secy Of State office and get their form and follow the directions. Fill it out, get a police inspection , pay your taxes and get a Mi State 'assigned' assembled vehicle VIN. the car gets registered as of the year it is assigned, ie , today thru Dec 31,2006 it would be a '2006 assembled vehicle'. some folks in remote areas and smaller SOS offices have encountered some minor issues ,but folks in larger areas where more have been registered have not had a problem. Mine had been registered so i did not personally go thru this experience but other friends who did said it was basically an easy ordeal. Hopefully some others from Mich can chime in here. Bill. |
