Getting CAl DMV without certificate of orgin
Well, I jumped off, purchased a kit that was first delivered in 91. It looks like I have all the packing slips in each box. What is missing is the Certificate of Orgin from Classic Roadsters. CRII says they can not provide another mainly because they only have records from 93 forward.
Anyone had any luck taking all the packing slips which list each part for the car and convince california DMV to issue a SB100 number or SPCNS number. I am trying to locate the person that took first delivery in 91. Just maybe but I doubt they would still have those papers. Looking for suggestions. Maybe the bill of Sale from the person I purchased it from and the packing slips will be enough. HRay |
Hi H,
Don't wait until the first day of the new year, go down to the DMV and talk to someone today(the manager would be best) and get his/her name. I would guess that you can get by without the MSO, but I would not want to wait until January second to find out, if there is any question you might just miss out on the SB100 number while they try to sort things out. I was there last year at 6:00am and got number 274. The good news is that the people at the DMV were great, in sharp contrast to what I had experienced in years past with other issues..... Good Luck!
