Here is the deal on the hotel. I just called the hotel and they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you book on line then you are locked in. You will need to call the hotel to get the R&G rate anyway. The secret here is don't do it on line.

BT SNAKE 01-19-2010 06:33 PM

I for one am very excited about the new venue.
Dean and Clois work extremely hard to keep this event around. I know they have to put up their own bucks to get things started. In the past they donated most of their work because they love this event as I do. So anything I can do to help just let me know.
This will be a great year for R&G. I do hope the T-shirts will be a little better though.:D

Hersh:)

Clois Harlan 01-20-2010 02:07 PM

Hey Hersh,

Good to hear from you and I hope the holidays treated you well. You have been a great help in the past. I will be calling in a few weeks about some design work for our personalized Golf shirts. I am excited about moving Run N Gun to MPH in Hastings, Nebraska. Feedback has been better than we expected especially since we are adding the pony cars to the mix.

Clois

WildBill3 01-20-2010 03:37 PM

Are the early Pony cars running under a vintage rules package or is this a run what you have? How do we separate partally modded from stock and soo on, im shure these are some of the ?????'s you guys are allready considering...Thanks, you guys are tops!

dlampe 01-20-2010 05:08 PM

We are working out the details but the will likely be fewer classes this year all across the board. We always have more trophies than we have drivers.

Clois, how was it printed on our flier? Are there 2 pony classes?

951mat 01-21-2010 08:33 AM

Well then, can I get a trophy from last year? I can't wait to see everyone again and hopefully some new faces as well. Still trying to get my car back from the painters and start reassembling. I think I will like the new venue as well since I don't see any concrete walls in Nascar turn 4.

2010 RNG WIP Flyer

Here is our 2010 Run N Gun Nationals flyer (this is not the final version) that list the classes and contacts. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._2_Medium_.jpg

PurpleVenom 01-21-2010 07:47 PM

Do you have the larger version of that flyer you can e-mail me?

Clois Harlan 01-22-2010 05:58 AM

This is not the final version but a source very near and dear to you has it on his computer. We are waiting on a sponsors box at the bottom to fill up. So far we have 6 sponsors committed to helping us with our ads in Kit Car Builder. We are also looking at placing ads in another magazine as well.

Interesting foot note is that we have had more inquiries this year than we have had in the 4 years Dean and I have been organizing this event. Maybe we need to make Run N Gun a traveling event every year or so?

Clois

PurpleVenom 01-22-2010 06:51 AM

Thanks Clois, I'm sure he will post it when the time is right. Traveling RNG - I think is a great idea. I know many that I spoke to at the last two RNG's in St. Louis really thought Hallet, Putnam and others would be great to visit. I only hope you keep it in the Midwest as it seems to be central to those traveling to the event. Although, I'm not sure I will make it to Nebraska this year, having to pick and choose my trips for this year.

Bailey 01-24-2010 02:05 PM

Hey Clois, keep up the good work.
My eyes are shot, just been out windsurfing all morning (no wetsuit, 78 deg, he he he).
Did I read the flyer correctly that there is no prep class for DOT tires?, only Street and Pro. Does that mean that I need to figure out how to drive with slicks?:3DSMILE:

Clois Harlan 01-25-2010 09:07 AM

You will love them Richard!! As fast as you and your brother are you could out run most of us on a set 5 yr old Michelin Truck Tires.

Since Dean, Mat, and I are putting up all the money for this years event we decided to cut back on the trophies since we have had at least 20 or so left over for the last several years. We also eliminated the RNG Experience class this year. By the way here is a link to an overhead of the track and I think you will love it. Lot's of run off and no concrete walls.

Looks good. No concrete, which is good for us Baileys. So was I correct, no prep class?
Would the normal DOT crowd get lumped in the street class, or made to run with the fast guys in Pro. After all, the DOT tires are Dot legal for street use.

thunderball 02-04-2010 02:27 PM

No concrete?:D suuper!!

However Clois I think getting rid of the prep class is a bad idea. You'll have slippery and grippery tires but no middle, kinda like a front and back cover. with no pages in the book. I guess my point being most anyone that tracks a cobra replica has or runs a set of dot's but most people would have to go buy a set of slicks to stay competitive and I know I can't afford a set as well as the drive up from florida. So that puts me back in street class.....and we all know how that ended up when it was dry%/

Keep the dot class with the cubic inch breaks, please. Maybe lump some of the power adder cars in to those classes depending on tires to consolidate trophies.

chris.

p.s; look forward to seeing you guys again.

rustyBob 02-04-2010 02:46 PM

I went by the track last weekend and if the weather dosent change soon you guys will be raceing on studded snow tires.

Bailey 02-04-2010 03:14 PM

I thought the DOT crowd was a large class. I know last year was light, but the weather was a last minute factor. I think the year before, the BB prep class was one of the biggest, maybe 10 or 11 cars.

dlampe 02-04-2010 08:45 PM

The thinking here is that a 17 inch DOT slick like a Hoosier A6 is just as competitive as a 15 inch true slick. I have ran them both and I can tell you that the Hoosier is faster for an amateur driver. The prepared class was for the DOT slick crowd. If you are in prepared and not running the DOT slicks you will not be any more or less competitive in the pro class. I have seen many years where the prepared guys out run the pro guys. The prepared guys in the front of the pack don't run tires that can be driven on the street on a regular basis.

RICK LAKE 02-05-2010 04:26 AM

Great pictures

George Anderson George With Dean running around at mach 2 speed the ponds are going to need a little protection. Dean likes water and grass and is always looking for the quickest way around the track. Not sure if he is a duck or lawnmower. If the car breaks we can always go fishing?%/ Looks like a fun track. Rick L.

JUS BIT 02-05-2010 11:18 AM

Looks like fun to me! I am planning on coming up again this year. I missed last year for many reasons, but I think it's gonna be a blast up in Hastings! Now, if I can just figure out a way to slow down Bailey and Wild Bill, I may have a chance...

James
