Run N Gun filling up
I just want to make sure everyone that has an interest has an opportunity to attend this year. I also want to make sure every Kit Car on the planet knows about Run N Gun. If you are thinking about attending I would encourage you to at least make your hotel reservations. We have several hotels listed on our web site for your convience. Our host hotel had only two or three rooms remaining on Monday. Also, for those of you wanting to bring your 5th wheel or Winnebago for camping at the track, those options are available also. This will be a Run N Gun to remember.
www.runngun.net MANUFACTURERS AND VENDORS George has assured me you can have all the room you need for your merchandise or display's. Of course some spaces will be better than others so you may want to check with George Anderson at 402-461-8031. Manufacturer and Vendor set up can begin as early as Tuesday evening at the track. George also told me that for those arriving early he has some special activities planned. Clois |

Bill,
GIT"ER DONE !!! This is really going to be a great R&G. I also have my room at the Host Motel. I am looking forward to seeing you and all the guys and gals . I heard rumor that Lew Payne may show up and some other Old friends of R&G as well. What say you Clois? Any word on others. Hersh:) |
Are they ever going to run drag racing again? It seems like without some kind of measure in a straight line there is nothing to compare how these "Kit" cars do against production or any other car. Every test of any car in any magazine includes straight line acceleration. No offense meant, just expressing my frustration. Cheers.

It's not likely. Most cobra's don't have adequate roll cages to pass NHRA rules. Some of the cobra's at Run and Gun run in the 9's! It has to do with the track's insurance in most cases. In the past Gateway let us slide but things tightened up and we had to stop. We could have a drag strip set up somewhere to compete with ourselves but without a prepped surface and reliable timing gear, there couldn't be a good comparison with the numbers you see quoted in the magazines. Sorry.

Can't you go to the local track and deal with your frustrations? How about coming for a lot more than a drag race. I don't get it. This event has been going for 23yrs and many were very good years as attendance goes. It stays because of the of a few dedicated people who want folks to have a good time with others that have similar likes.
This has nothing to do with comparisons to street cars or any other kind of cars. It's about Replicas and handbuilts, It's about you and your car and enjoying the company of others doing likewise. Leave the tests to the mags. Besides there was a post made by Clois in the R&G forum explaining the reason for no drags. Mostly due to insurance cost I believe. Hersh:) PS... Twin Turbo, you can break out of the tens if you really try.;):) |
Nearly ready to stick the engine and tranni in for a test fit :) to get the engine/trani mounts set.. Im trying guys!

You will make it Bill. I am still trying to fix a lot of very shoddy work by an unnamed manufacturer. Never again will I mention his or his companies name. I may bring to RNG but it will probably not be anywhere near complete. Some people should not be in this business.
The good news is that when I get it finished it will be very nice but that is going to take some time and money!!!! |
