Run and Gun 2007 Novice Driving Video

I found this video on the Houston Cobra Club web site and it has some very good pointers for all drivers. Take a look if you have a few minutes. There is an important narrative that gives you some key driving tips. Enjoy the video then put your efforts to work at Run and Gun 2007.

It always helps me this time of year to remember what I am looking forward to in the first Spring track event.

Hey Clois great event last year ,do you run in several events? Were ?with street tires it gets crazy out ther but its teaching me throttle control Yyeee haaaa..but this road race thing is new to me autoxd alot but its not the same ,do these track events only cater to full roadrace cars or my cars not licensed so would they let me run those track day events with the street cars..

Bill, come down to Tulsa first part of June to the Shelby Mid-America meet. Hook up with Clois and I and we can all get some serious track time at Hallet. They have 5 different classes based on what makes you comfortable. Your tires are fine but if you want to try some slicks, let me or Clois know and we will find a set of good used tires for $25 or $50 bucks each depending. We are considering running at Road America and Putnam park in Indiana this year.

Great video. I'll be out practicing tomorrow. Pity my insurance agent will not cover me for track race time there. Not to worry I'll have someone take me for a lap or two.

Bernie,
You can take all the laps you like with my GT. Just sign up and your set.:D

As I have increased the Life Policy to a considerable amount, I have a few restrictions. Particularly;

%/

Go Kart racing
Boat Racing
Auto racing
Hang gliding
etc. etc.

Fortunately...

%/

Alcohol
Over indulgence in good food
Sex

were not considered dangerous....

No mention anywhere of being a passenger though. So the 150mph runs down the freeways in the GT40 are still all ok....**) **)

Bernie,

Your insurance agent will be at least 10 hours away and this is not a race, It IS a timed event. You want us to lie for you and tell them you were just heating up the tires a little and not participating in the event?

Looking forward to seeing you in a few months.

Thanks. Yes sure loking forward to catching up again.

Have you heard from Wayne T. and Rich P. and the others who were around at the early events.

I have not seen Wayne on the forum here for ages. His son and nephew spent a few weeks with me in Sydney and Melbourne a little over 18 months ago.

Hersh and I caught up after the London Cobra show at Evansville Indiana. But the I.C.E forum has been quite for a long while now..%/

Yes look forward to catching up.
