W E W A N T 2007 Run And Gun S P E C T A T O R S !!!

We want to encourage anyone thinking of buying or building a Kit Car in the future to come to this years Run and Gun October 11-13, 2007. Many of the manufacturers will be represented and available for questions and test drives. Additionally, Morris Clement (SCCA Champion) and Keith Craft Engines have scheduled seminars Wednesday and Friday. Topics will include setup and handling tips for the street and the track and then on Friday Keith will demonstrate some build and tune-up techniques . Wednesday will be an added session that will allow participants to attend the Setup Seminar, make modifications, and put their car on the track for some test and tune laps. If you are interested in the Wednesday session please check our web site for additional information.

Spectators are invited to attend each and every session and then join us for our Road Course and Auto Cross awards banquet on Friday night. (Drag Race and Overall awards will be Saturday afternoon). Friday's nights dinner is usually catered by one of St. Louis' finest. Tickets can be purchased at the track for the banquet, cost should be around $10. In addition, to the seminars and dinner all participants will have full access to the track, pits, and garages. Another plus is the round table sessions that occur in the pits after the track closes (Pits are open until midnight). Spectators are certainly welcome to join us at any time so bring a folding chair if you like.

These Kit Car owners, vendors, and manufacturers are an exceptional group that are available to help you with some of your decisions and build problems. They can guide you through area's where you may be needing a little reassurance or instruction. In short this is a great opportunity for you to experience some of the chaos and comradery that occurs at one of these events with the added benefit of seeing most of the offerings by many of the manufactures.

We are really excited by the new Corvette Gran Sports, GT-40s', Daytona Coupes, Cobras, Stalkers, Dragons, Cheetahs, Lotus 7 and others that are scheduled to be here. For additional information check out our web site:

Very spectator friendly

I'm not a Cobra owner yet, but someday :D I attended Run and Gun last year and I'm here to testify that it was a great time. I liked it so much I went for two days! I must have taken a hundred pictures.

Everyone is friendly and willing to answer questions. And the cars! Oh my! You can hang out in the pit area or walk a hundred feet in either direction to watch the cars on the track. If you like cars, it doesn't get any better in my opinion and it's all FREE.

As a spectator, I highly recommend it. The only thing that could possibly be more fun is driving your car at Run and Gun.

See you this year.

Run & Gun

Some of the guys (North Ala Cobra Club) are talking about making the Run & Gun this year as spectators. It's a 7 hour drive for us. All of this is good news for us.

Dwight,

We would love to have you at Run and Gun as a competitor or spectator. IF you decide to come up and see us next year you will definetly be a competitor.

Is this subject to hot for even a reply?

Clois Harlan 08-29-2007 12:56 PM

Bill,

I have been out of town and haven't checked this thread in a while. Dean is going to be in Tulsa next week and hopefully we can discuss this and other issues and get back with you. I personally think that is a great idea. Several of the vendors that have told me they are planning on coming have said they would give test rides/drives during the lunch break.

What better place to demonstrate a Cobra than a closed course. By the way do you have a passenger seat in your Coupe'?

It would help if Gateway had more info on their site, a link to R&G site or something. I had a heck of a time tracking it down, not being a member of this site until just today.
Couldn;t find anything on the Kit Car Mag site either.

dlampe 09-03-2007 11:23 AM

Thanks jeff, I will make sure Gateway gets a link added. That is a real oversight on their part. I will also check with Brian Smith at Kit Car to find out why they don't have a link on their sight. I really hope you can make it this year.

WildBill3 09-03-2007 12:32 PM

yes i do have a passenger seat,The only problem has been the passengers pushing the firewall out from getting the %#$@ scared out of them at the autox,s ahahahaha im thinking i need something for them to brace themselves so they dont use the firewall like dead pedals or something. You guys would have loved the response the car got at Goodguys this weekend they dont get to see the oldersports racing cars at ther evnts I think if the Rungun event could be coordinated with some other club events that draw folks.I mean guys ther were 3000 plus cars at saturdays event, the rodrs loved it ,some of the spectaters paid for rides with me at the autox. wow that felt so good to be appreciated by them, it was cool .just my thoughts WB
