Next Run and Gun is October 8-11, 2008 in St. Louis' Gateway International Racetrack.
Fastest 1/4 mile time if I remember correctly was Randy Schranz with a 10.22. in a Shell Valley Cobra with a highly modified Chevy 350. Clois Harlan |
Welcome to Club Cobra
LTHL SVT JR. welcome to the club. Your dad still has one of the fastest times from Maple grove.%/ No body as run a 9.0 second 1/4 mile without a power added. We have been in the 10.20's in the 138 mph range. They have done great track prep at Gateway, the problem is hooking up. Stacy P ran a 9.86 and 138 with juice of a 200 hp shot. We have had drag cars run in the 9.0's couple of years ago. I am trying to talk Dave Sol. out of retirement and bring his cobra to next year event. Your Dad know's who. He will not know until next year in the spring. We hope you and your Dad can come. Bring your mechanic too. There is a day of test and tune but not at the drag strip. You can run the weds night race if you want. Hope to see you at Millville for the SCCA show in year. Rick L.

Boy does this bring back the memories, huh Rick. I also
remember ole John Ciachi getting in some good runs. I really enjoyed ole Johns Rehetoric when he came up against his new challenger. He would do anything he could to psyche out his opponent. He drove with a cigar in his mouth and a black helmet that looked 3 sizes too small. Also Wayne Turpin's Cobra was a cooker too. Shell Valley used to bring out a pretty fast cobra that did well. If I remember right it had a parachute on it. You know the best thing about this is the good ole days are back. This last R&G was fantastic. and I can see that it is really going to be even bigger and better. Hersh:) |
I think were coming next year with drag slicks shocks axles big gear lets just see what what the olcar can do!!yehaaaa
|
sounds like there is a "best of 3" ,or 5, match shaping up for next years RnG :)

Oh boy I love grudge matches and friendly competition.
Make your plans early in the spring if you can. Clois |
