R&G can include the family too...

Some folks might get the idea that R&G is just about a bunch of motorheads getting together and wasting a lot of good gas and rubber. Well ... that's part of it. St.Louis area is loaded with plenty of things for the whole family. You can check here to see many of the cities offerings to visitors.

www.explorestlouis.com/visitors/25things.asp

There is Six Flags which is 30 miles south of the city and there is the ride through the arch. One I highly recommend. If you like the casino action then you will love an evening along the riverwalk near the arch. There are several RV and camp grounds nearby too. So if you have a weeks vacation you can make the whole family happy by spending equal time at the theme park and touring the rest of what St. Louis has to offer. Then you can head over to the track.:3DSMILE:
When the day is done at the track doesn't mean the fun stops. Most of the particapants go out for the evening at one of the many fine restaruants in the area. There is also been some good conversations had at the pit garages too after the days over. Some of the guys and gals choose to hang around there and talk about the days events.
So if you plan ahead you can make mom and the kids happy too. Besides, I know for sure they will get a charge out of watching dad race around the track in his second most pride and joy.:3DSMILE:;)

Hersh:)

PS.. And don't forget that there will be plenty of manufacturers displaying their wares. So if you haven't got a Cobra or other type of kit then this place will help you decide. Also There will be one great show and shine. Go here for more details....

Another, thing that needs mentioning is the Wednesday Test n Tune session (speaker to be announced later) and the Thursday night CRUISE to Dave Williams Fastlane Motorsports. I am told this cruise might include a free (or at least very cheap) dinner. This cruise is open to all Run n Gun participants even those that are participating in the Car Show only on Saturday if they pre-register.

At present we have these paid manufacturers and vendors signed up for our Manufacturers Row (if you are a mfg and you want a space you need to contact us pretty quickly because the spots are going very fast):

B&B Manufacturing; BackDraft Cobra; Brunton Stalker; D & D Cobra (Canada); Dio-Tipo; Dragon Motors; Fast Lane Motors; Mendeola TransAxels: Mongoose Motors; RCR (Race Car Replicas); Roush Racing; Shell Valley; and Superformance; and others.

Free seminars throughout the event for both spectators and drivers, as well as some pretty nice door prizes.

Discounted Early Registration to open up on May 1, 2008.

Well said Hersh! I'll add to that....If anyone would like to chat about family fun and things to do in the St. Louis area, PM me and I will be more than happy to give you some more great ideas of what our town has to offer.

For the car guy we will keep you busy with spectator seminars on building a kit, building an engine, setting up suspension, driving seminars, test rides, and more and we are not even mentioning all that is going on in the pits and on the track. Thursday afternoon is a cruise over to Fastlane Motorsports and even the spectators can attend for a very very small fee. Less than the cost of food.

Soon we will be posting an agenda and all spectators can pick and choose what they are interested in seeing or doing. This will allow the car guy to be a family guy too. This event will have something for everyone and St. Louis can be very beautiful for the family.

Make Run n Gun a Family Affair

That's right, St. Louis is one of the Great Citeis in the United States and it's history is infamous. There are so many things to do in St. Louis that we don't have time to list them all but the point is that you can bring your family with you and make your family a part of your weekend. Our families usually spend a day or so at the track and then some of the ladies go shopping or site seeing or do something they want to do (get a massage at some spa). St. Louis has amusement parks, water parks, Major League Baseball, Football, Hockey, shopping galore and of course there is the Budweiser Brewery and the Arch that I highly recommend.

Oh yes did I mention that Run n Gun 2008 will be going on from October 8-11?

r&g in St. Louis

Born there, raised there, escaped from in 1983.:D Just kidding about the escaped part. Left in 1983. Don't forget Steak & Shake chile macs. Forest Park has a world class zoo. I try to get back once a year. It does get a tad warm in the summer. For those of you who have the opportunity to go have a blast. Do visit Ted's for an ice cream.

Jim,

Why don't you make a trip back during Run and Gun this year? You could be a tour guide or perhaps lead one of the cruises that we are planning. October is usually pretty nice as far as temps are concerned, nice fall mornings and warm afternoons. Great track conditions.
