New Cobra to Debut at Run n Gun

Hey everyone, I am very excited about this years Run N Gun. I believe that this event will soon become a "must attend" event. Clois, Dean, and everyone involved have been working their butts off to make this event great. If you love cool cars, cool people, and a great time. you need to sign up now. I registered on line last night at Gateway Raceways web site. Just click on "tickets" to sign up. Also, check out the Run n Gun web site on this forum to see everything that's happening. Even if you don't have or want to race your car you'll want to check out what's new. If you have questions about how to set up a car or just general one's you will find some one at Run n Gun that will be glad to help.
I have been working feverishly to finish my new car, which is a Cobra 427 Roadster. It will make its debut at this years Run n Gun. Come to Run n Gun and check it out. We can go for a ride if you want! I am known for Corvette based cars, the Dragon. So, even at the risk of offending every Ford guy I designed my car around new Corvette parts. After several chassis designs and material evaluations I settled on a steel space frame with a fully welded in trans tunnel which forms a back back bone. It is pretty light but really strong and torsionally stiff. I then skin the chassis with .040 aluminum. The body simply slide over the chassis. I used the complete running gear, wheels and tires from the Vette. But, Ford engines will work too! I believe that my car has several unique features that you might want to check out.
The chassis is done. Body molds are done. The body is in paint and the chassis is being painted. If all goes well I should have it on the road very shortly. I can't wait. Building a car basically from scratch is ALOT of work. Especially when I am never satisfied and I change everything as I am building. But, its great fun too. I will have pictures soon for any one that wants to check it out. I haven't wanted to post any until its done.
Have a great one, and drive safely!!! John

You should post some photos of the build process. Sounds like an interesting chassis and body. Rick
