CR drawing Info
Does anyone know the origin of the CR drawings? They do a pretty good job of dimensioning the mechanical points but all the angular and radius dimensions for the birdcage are missing.
The drawing could be scanned and overlayed but I don't know the history of the lines. How accurate are they? Are there any other sources of body or birdcage dimensional data? Thanks Paul |
The CR drawings all in all are not too bad. Some measurements are not production friendly, but can be converted using a meaningful "datum-line". The front lower suspension mounts come to mind.
The birdcage needs to be bend "to fit" into your body. The birdcage around the door frame openings are for aluminium bodied cars only. The fibre body cars have a different tubing where you attach the door locks, if I my memory serves me well. The angle and radius of the scuttle hoop is extremely critical, especially in the windshield and door hinge area. The actual height of it seems to be confusing, but Mickmate will have the accurate value for you. In fact, he should make you that piece! Dom, Cape Town |
CR Drawings
Paul,
Look at my pics in gallery..I built the frame from the drawings and used my body to final the birdcage..drawings were pretty close to what I needed...I added some tubes to give better support.. |
