Suspension widths....
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone may happen to know the general dimensions for the wheel mounting flange-to-flange widths on the 427's front and rear suspension (at ride height I guess). I know that I've seen a few threads on this in the past, but can't seem to find em again. I'm starting in on my rear-end fab next week, and was hoping to figure out a rough idea on placement before I fine tune things. Sure would save a lot of tack welding : ) Thanks for any help you can provide !! Mike. |
Hey Mike, I had some maths on here before about that. Take the track of 56" and subtract the backspace from the offset from both sides.
|
Lets look at a rear wheel, 9.5" actual measuremant over outside is 10.5", backspace is 3.5". 10.5/2=5.25. 5.25-3.5=1.75 offset. 56" track-(1.75x2) = 52.5" flange to flange. Whattya think?

Hi Nick,
Thanks a bunch. I did cross paths with this equation in my searches. Nicely put together. I'm guessing the front works the same way!! I'll start posting pics once the rear is completed. Mike. |
