4" tube length ?
I plan on scratch building a chassis for my wifes cobra. I would like to build the 4" round tube style chassis. Can someone tell me how long the main lengths are from front to back? Also how many cross bars are there?
Thanks, Shawn |
Pretty close to 96" a little over depending on whose numbers. 3 of 4" x-members and one 3" for the trans. You're gonna need a lot more numbers than that to scratch build one..........

mail rail specs...
HI Scuster,
Based on 'original' dims, your main rail should run 96 5/8 - 96 3/4". Same set of drawings displayed both %/. I started my measure points from the rear of the frame working forward, leaving the variable at the front diagonal tube, where it has the least impact on the surrounding assemblies. Not to throw a wrench in the gears, but the 3" crossmember that Nick had mentioned will run under your oilpan location. From the rear of the frame, the placement (on center) is as follows... 4" - 13 3/8, 33 9/16, and 89 5/8" 3" - 59 7/8" Good luck and happy buildin' Mike. |
Thanks
Thanks to both of you. I am going to take my time on this build. So a little info here and there will be plenty for me to digest and transform. Hopefully someday I have something that resembles a cobra.
Thanks again, Shawn |
