Seat belt mounting on original style frame

Looking for suggestions or pics on mounting a 5-point Simpson system
on an original style frame. My shoulder belts will be attached to the roll bar, BUT where to mount brackets for waist belts???? To the floor or somekind of frame mount???
Any ideas?
Thanks .............and yes, it's getting THAT close:):):)

Hi Dave, the originals used tabs by the tunnel rear for the inners and a hole through the frame for the outers. I have a pic I'll send ya. Exciting progress! Cheers Nick

Yep, Nick
Getting a few things done. Had it fired up today ....again.....but puffed a little oil at startup and I'm thinking I'm filling up valve covers with too much top oiling. Going to go in and place a restrictor in each head. Using hi-volume pump.
Brakes are good to go....or I should say stop.
The wife is being very generous with my Cobra time..... something's up:)

That's great news. Update your gallery a bit for us. I'm sure she's sensing the fever at this point, I've topped up the kitchen overhaul account and am cashing in Cobra time too. I sent the pic.

Have you painted your chasis yet? I am not sure if I have any photos around, but on Scott Coyles car we put 1" X 1 1/2" .120 wall tube in place of the sheet metal c-channel between the rear outrigger and the cowl tube. Then we added two more tubes perpendicular to the main rails out to that tube. The front one was drilled and a spud welded in for his fifth belt and the outer tube had inserts welded in for bolting in an inner cage and door bars. Not original but made it alot more rigid and added a bunch to the safety of the car. His car was built for racing only so we wanted to make it as safe as posible with nothing visable that couldn't be unbolted. Easy to do on an unpainted frame. If you would like I could draw something up.

Hi Mike.
The frame is stainless steel so...... anything can be added at anytime. Welding stainless is no problem for me.
A drawing would be nice, may help others also.:)
I'm going to the garage today and will check out your suggestions.
Thanks
Dave
