There is a fellow on e-Bay who is selling cobra bodies, the # 300113476209
do these look like the 427 or the fia body/

fasterpatrick 05-23-2007 09:35 PM

Yes, those bodies look very familiar I think I know where the molds that mine came from wound up. I think he is selling them elsewhere for around 2500. http://www.kitcarstogo.com/66_cobra.htm. I really couldn't tell what the true body style is, but it doesn't have the fuel cap dimple like the 427. But I don't know it all maybe someone does. Patrick

I think that looks like a pretty good 427SC body shape. I wonder what his reserve is. The skinned doors take up some precious room but could hide some side protection in them also. As Patrick said it doesn't have the fuel filler recess but I have a good sketch of measurements for something like that. Also needs all the sidepipe and rollbar cutouts etc. It is using the same cars for the kitcarstogo site so it's the same operation on a startup missions from the looks. Could be a good time to score a deal!

Are those Kit cars to go bodies a decent unit or should I keep looking?

Information on bodies

The Kit that someone is complaining about can be viewed at www.kitcarstogo.com it is in the Cobra Gallery of photos, Davids' is the 2005 Mustang Metal Flake Blue with the white racing stripes, (The struts on both units were too high for them to pass as an original replica) I will add the visual problem has been since solved, and Georges' is the 2003 Mazda RX8 Canary Yellow with the Black Racing stripes and the 5.0 HO motor and T5speed transmission.
