Collecting info before start.
Hi,
I'm new on this forum. I decided to build Cobra 427 not from kit but from plans, blueprints etc. First of all I bought Blueprints from cobrarestorers.com. I hope its a good start. Thus, i have few question meybe lot of them are funny but i want to be sure before i'll start. What differential should I use to mount it into the frame made from cobrarestorers.com blueprints ? Any link ? photo ? I see on pictures that all of builders changes the differential brackets/holders. How to adapte other suspension or differ ? Do you have any drawings with changes. Maybe for sell ? Is original/genine differential is unavailble ? What suspension , any shops , links except cobrarestorers.com ? I'll use probably 427 engine. Pls help Thanks for all. Paul |
Hello Paul & welcome.
The original rear end was a Salisbury IRS. I would build one with your plans and look at all of the Kirkham's you can to go by. The frame is of course a round tube. Engine either a 428 FE (in all street Cobras) Or the 427 side oiler. You can buy a old block or complete engine or check out these new iron or aluminum blocks from Pond or Genesis. |
