The scenery looks familiar......was that photo taken on the Cherohala? My wife and I have rode a bike on the Cherohala Skyway and the Tail of the Dragon three times and loved every turn! If all goes well, I'm taking my car there in the spring.

The first picture is on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The third pic is at the TN entrance to the Tail of the Dragon. We were preparing for a return run. We did enjoy the Cheohala Skyway on our way to the Tail of the Dragon.
Here's another angle with my father at the same location:

He doesn't look too happy does he ;-) I see he's closer to the drivers door than the cameraman.

Great stuff Doug! I would have liked a chance to go visit Dwight's shop. He was a great guy and built really great motors. I have a friends car here at my house with one of his 428 CJ's and it runs like a raped ape! He will be missed! Would love to see more photo's of your car and motor too. I have a 427 Tunnel Port that I would like to build up myself and Dwight was going to be my guy. I'm kinda like you, I like the old stuff for sentimental reasons. Regards, Matt

My problem is that on nice days if I have time, I'd rather drive it than shoot photos, so I don't have any decent photos of the motor (other than when it was out of the car and I've made some mods to make it more period correct - with a bit of help from Nick Acton). I never remember to shoot photos when I'm out and stopped. I'll get it cleaned up and shoot some more pics and post them soon.
