Fuel tank vent hose(s) ?
2 Attachment(s)
When we got 4158, the fuel tank filler neck had a welded 3/8 nipple near the top, with a 3/8 hose drop for an overflow or vent.
However it also had an an 8 fitting on the tank itself, with a 1/2" hose looped around itself and zip tied to the frame. Hose was just pushed on to the fitting and clamped - which seems a little rigged.
Are these both vents? Seems like the AN fitting should connect to the filler vent itself, rather than 2 lines.

One is to vent the tank as you put in fuel. If you have a sealed gas cap, the other is to let air in while running. I've got a check ball on the tank vent, so that if you flip over it blocks off the vent.

Good idea - do you just have it installed onto the tank, or between the hose and muffler?
Also looked at our cap and it does have a vent hole. Should I just combine the two for the sake of redundancy?

I go from the vent through the tip over valve. From the valve I plumb up high behind an inner fender and put the muffler on the end as a breather.
