Nice SB cars, should set the market as the sale prices seem solid at this stage.

They are obviously both show cars. One drive in a 289 leaf-spring Cobra shod with Goodyear Polyglass bias-ply tires and you likely won't drive it on anything but glass-smooth surfaces again.

Wow, look at the other stuff in this collection. A whole bunch of awesome vehicles, including a three 300SLs 2 roadsters and a gullwing.

Ned-what accounts for the two different overflow tanks? Just owner / restorer choices or a production change at Shelby?

Nedsel 04-18-2013 08:03 PM

2121 is an early car with the Harrison radiator and expansion tank. By the time 2332 came along, they had switched to a better radiator and Ford expansion tank.

See? You won't get that info anywhere else!!

Remember, every one of the CSX2xxx and CSX3xxx cars were very much "custom had built". Improvisation to make it work. There weren't enough of them for your neighbor down the street to compare and complain about the differences. It's what makes them special!

Ned, what's the switch/sensor on the aluminum lower radiator tubing for? Fan switch?

That is an Otter switch that controls the front fan.

That is freakin' amazing. That's about 2x what the small block cars have been going for in the past. We'll see if the trend continues or if these were truly exceptional cars.

LMH 04-29-2013 03:40 PM

Yeah small block cars are on the rise. I've been watching them for the past few years.

Custom hand built is right! I remember csx 2058 a 260cid. had a 1 gal. peach can used as a air duct leading into the cabin; from the factory! I remember asking (1970 or 71)Steve why the peach can & he just said thats what they used. Now thats custom build:MECOOL:

sorry for missprint;changed 2gal to 1gal. just hit wrong key :(
