Great pictures-thank you.

Nice to meet you Jeff!

Coach and I checked the inside of the Quick Fuel and it was as clean as the day it was installed on the motor. I'm surprised. I guess I should have not been surprised. I had changed the fuel filter and cut it open. It was very clean for 13,000 miles.
We changed the plugs. Car running great. Ready for the trip to Ohio and I get a call from a guy wanted to buy it. But he wanted to come next week to look at it. I told him I was leaving Wed night for Ohio. He told me he did not want me to put 1300 miles on his Cobra. So we agreed to meet Thur. morning at my house. I took him for a 15 mile ride and then he drove it for 12 miles and bought it. I've told a bunch of people that if anyone ever drove the B&B they would buy it. So Coach was waiting in his F150 in front of my house. The Cobra left on a trailer for Ark and we pulled out headed North. We attend the SAAC 41 event at Mid Ohio on Friday. Great event with lots of cars. Shelby stuff and vintage race cars. Two events in one weekend. Spend the evenings with the Ky Cobra Club. Met a bunch of new people. Talked a lot about Cobras and told a lot of old stories. Stayed up till 11:00 and 12:00 but up early. Saturday morning we changed our plans and drove to London (to buy a couple of T-shirts) ended up spend the day on Main St. Ate strawberry short cake. Bought five t-shirts plus three at Mid Ohio. Like I need more t-shirts. Returned Sunday. Beautiful (perfect) weather for the trip. Oh we drove through some rain but it's summer time. Had a great time! Dwight |

Jeff,
I enjoyed meeting you and your son and finally seeing "Goldie." I am the guy who owns the Aurora 289 Slab-side. |
Jeff, thanks for posting all the great pictures.
For those who haven't seen Jeff's car in the flesh, let me tell you it is nothing short of spectacular ! Definitely one of the big hits at the convention, it was surrounded all weekend by fans who attended the show. It is just incredible. The attention to detail is second to none. |
What s great looking Aurora.
My parent live in Holly Springs. Would love to see it if I am down that way. Gordy Thanks for the kind words. Was that your red 40 there? |

We added a few of our custom made parts, It was a pleasure to work with Dr Bob, great guy and a wealth of knowledge, and now a great friend. He's a hands on car/cobra nut, like most of us!:D Thank you Sir. Great pictures Jeff, one day I hope to attended myself.:) |
Jeff, you and Mach 1 Fan are related, so to speak! Both your car and his are molded from the same original car.

Jeff
That was my friends car, a Mark II continuation, with a ton of mods to make it as close to an exact copy as possible. The car has many original GT40 parts and the attention to detail, like your car, is quite stunning. I was driving the Unique 289. Used the track days as a test to wring the life out of it and identify it's shortcomings as a race car. Many upgrades planned, and by next year I hope to have it looking like a proper FIA car, and fast to boot.:) |
Gordy,
Hope Paul asked all the right questions. Make a thread on your car as it progresses as I for one would love to see the transition... That MKII was a stunner! Could tell that there were many improvements to really make you think hard when looking at it. Larry, Sorta, T. Gunning changed the Aurora molds back as they were modified to fit that particular frame. The mods were reversed so it could be used on the original buggy chassis as #2017 I think was. |
Jeff,
I am in Greensboro and have a garage full of fun cars. Send me an email when you are going to be in the area and I will be glad to invite you over. We will take the Aurora out for a ride. Michael Briggs Mach 1 Fan |
CSX2013. When Tim bought the molds, they changed the Aurora specific stuff back to original. The leaf spring chassis jigs were made from a later CSX they had in the shop for restoration.

Jeff, check your inbox. Trying to get you your photo....
