Question for Shelby American re - Master Cyl.

Have a question for anyone from Shelby American,

What Brand of Master Cylinders are you installing on your CSX6000 427SC series cars, and what two bore sizes are you running for the Front & Rear Master's?

Thanks,

Bill Kesner

Your chances of getting an answer from Shelby American here are practically nil. They do not actively monitor this. If you want to know you should contact them directly by phone or email at their Vegas location. Ask for Tony in the Cobra shop.

As I mentioned in this topic:

http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/shel...-foot-box.html

The sizes of the masters according to Shelby at the time were:

Clutch - P/N 712-3/4
brakes P/N 712-5/8 & P/N 712-7/8

These were for CNC and AFCO but both are no longer produced and I don't know what they are using now.

i have a 6000 series car. I have wilwoods on mine. I changed my clutch master due to excessive foot pressure to the next smaller size and it worked great.

Hi Mike,

Would you know the bore sizes of your two Master Cylinders are? Since Wilwood does not make a 7/8 Bore, I'm curious as to what sizes they are using now to assist the brake bias more for the fronts? I had 3/4 for the front, and 7/8 for the rears.

Thanks,

Mike,

Would you happen to know what the 2 sizes of your Brake master Cylinders are? Curious as to what Shelby is putting on their rolling chassis? My original AFCO's were 3/4 for the Front Brakes, and 7/8 for the Rears. Appreciate your help!

Thanks,
- Bill -

Hi Bill.

Did you get info/replies to your initial question ???

I have same problem as yours on my CSX4000. Both AFCO master cylinders are worn and I need to replace them.

Thanks, OliveR

Hey Oliver,

I purchased a set of Wilwoods, but you'll find the fitting don't match up as they are backwards compared to the AFCO's. Also had bore size issues that Wilwood only makes, and I wanted the same ratio Shelby set up on mine.

You'll find the Tilton 76 Series a better fit, especially for your hard lines and bore sizes. On the Tilton's, the end is plugged, so I moved the plug to the center. Very front is your inlet, and the rear is your outlet. My front Master is 3/4, and the rear is 7/8. Hope this helps! If you send me your email, I'll send you some pics.

Hi Bill.

Ok thank you very much for your quick reply.

I already installed Tilton 76 series on ERA Cobras and they work perfectly since years.

I send you right now a PM with my email address for the pictures.

Thanks again.

OliveR
