i'm happy you are having so much enjoyment driving your car. i think that "sai" needed to do alot more Q.C. work before they deliver a car let alone after the cars been back in thier hands after problems are found. it looks as though i will miss another of the "monterey historics" at this rate...... |
well it turns out that i am one of two people (the other person got tired of waiting for the car and decided to make thier own brackets) who ordered the original girling brake package on the 7000 series cars. bob marsh just called and apologized for the oversight that they shipped the vehicle without completing the development on this brake package. "sai" is now checking into having someone fabricate the required brackets for my application. we'll see what happens next............

To the Happy SAI owners..
I love Shelby. I have been to his old Vegas Factory and did a tour at SAAC doe Vegas 6. I got my obligatory 90 second meeting with him while he signed some high priced prints I bought, but it was well worth meeting the Legend. My 5 year old son watches his videos and has all the toys and wants to meet Carroll desperately. I have a 68 GT 500 That I will eventually have to sell to aquire a Cobra. and If I am selling my SHELBY, I want it to be done for another SHELBY. I get on this forum from time to time and enjoy everybodys stories and bench racing. It all centers around the mutual love of these 2 seated Cars. Part of me says to hold on to the GT 500 and get a good Replica COBRA. another part of me wants a second Generation SHELBY COBRA. Hell, I was ready to plunk down ten grand on the S.A. car until I found out I could not see one in person. Then I started following CSX 700?'s dilemma and It scares me quite frankly. I am not looking for a Component Car that has to be completely reconfigured by me, which is what it appears this guy has been going through. I will say this, The $39,900 SA Car got me looking. the lack of appearance of the SA car as well as the problems this guy has had, has me looking at other manufacturers. Now I also must point out, I am a small business owner and grew up in the service department of a FORD dealer where my Father was the Service Manager. I understand there is always two sides to every story. the problem I do not like here is that the story has too many chapters and no end in sight! The old motto "The Customer comes first, is always right" is a great way to do business. when SAI had this car back why did they not go the extra mile and carefully scrutinize every nut and bolt on this car? I also must say I respect SAI for not getting into a Public argument with this client either. I do not know to what lengths they have gone or offered to go to for this guy. I truly hope that This matter gets resolved quickly.

"yes' this experience has put a very sour taste in my mouth. when you pay for a product as expensive as this or any other dream it should be a joyful event. not only has "sai" done a piss poor job at developing this car i now have to wait for additional parts not to mention the parts that have somehow become "lost" from the dealer i bought the vehicle from and unfortunately they are unable to reproduce the missing parts and kirkham has changed thier patterns for the parts. i do not in any way shape or form find kirkham at fault for this. the kirkhams have stood behind a "sai" modified product to try and make the customer happy and EVERYTHING the kirkhams have done is a first rate job. i will now have to hire an aluminum "fabricator / panel beater" to manufacture my "lost" panels and wait for "sai" to engineer and make my parking brake brackets. i will be loading onto my gallery letters and copies of emails from my dealer and "sai" in the near future to show that i've been less than a "disturbed" customer as my dealer "newport shelby cobras" calls me............do yourself a huge favor buy a kirkham product, you can't go wrong with them!!!! |
Have you asked for a refund?
If you were my customer, you would not be my customer. I would have refunded to you every dime you spent so far. This is a case of not being able to even make lemonade out of lemons. The way I see it, SAI will not benefit by having you as a customer, you will never be happy being a CSX owner. I can't for the life of me see any value in continued relationship. I am NOT saying SAI did anything right, nor am I saying you have any fault in this entire transaction. Just like a bad marriage. You divorce, and marry someone else and your wife marries someone else, and everybody is happy. Do it for the children's sake. Brent, None of my business but..... What is to be gained to have this gentleman remain as a Shelby customer? Give him his money back, others are already lined up to buy the car. Someone tell me where I am wrong. I have customers and cars like this. Everyone is happier when the deal is off. TURK Consumer Con-Selling |

i will be posting a letter from my dealer as to the buy it back issue and "no" they did not want to pay for what has been invested by me in this car..............i gave fenimore the price i needed to have to purchase this vehicle back, in one of his posts he offered to reimburse me for costs on parts that were replaced that never happened either. p.s. i just spoke with bob marsh iand he assured me that thier making the parts a.s.a.p..................thanks bob marsh |
