Jdog, thanks.

One thing I did do is anytime they asked for more money I gave it to them. Crazy? yeah, but as you said you decided to play the hand you have. Keep pushing on your dealer and Shelby management.

Ca$h Offer!

Morgan,
Last summer I offered: Ca$h-in-full, for a car before Jan 05! No deal, go figure!
You must have really gotten to them in another way. How did you do it? Do you have pictures of 'Carroll' or somebody, doing something naughty? Or do you have friends in 'low places'?;)

jdog:3DSMILE:

P.S. Damn that's Hot!
Red was my (very close) 2nd choice for a color, and definitely no-stripes (over done)! I only chose black because I've had a red sports car (Turbo Porsche) before, and it was like a 'red cape to a bull'! They would pick me out of a group of other cars for tickets! I'm going to try the 'stealth' approach this time.

RedCSX1 01-02-2005 07:52 PM

Well, we will talk

and I will tell you all about it. Certainly a little help from my friends went a long way. You are going to Vegas in Feb, right? If you are then I will do everything possible to help you while there.

Morgan

jdog 01-02-2005 09:52 PM

Not without a car!

I won't be going without a car. If I go anywhere in Feb it will be to TJ to visit HST and my car. I just wouldn't have much fun, watching everybody else enjoying their Shelby's.:(

jdog;)

bmalone 01-02-2005 10:43 PM

Jdog, you should be going anyway. You will have a good time w/o the car. Think of all the stuff you will miss.

RedCSX1 01-03-2005 01:44 AM

Jdog,

One of the main reasons I have my car today is because I went to Shelby does Vegas last year and had a face to face talk with a few people like Cleo Shelby and Brent Fenimore.

Morgan

jdog 01-03-2005 09:59 AM

"Misunderstanding"!

I'm affraid that Brent and others would take my old 'Folsom Prison kiss hello & bear hug' all wrong! There would likely be a misunderstanding!

jdog:eek:
P.S. I still don't understand how these guys could let things grind to a halt at HST! I'm still pissed! I should be at DMV right now, witha big smile on my face, getting an sb100 # for 2005! ARGH!!

hinds57 01-03-2005 10:58 AM

jdog,

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding. You've said that you've not given your second 25% installment to shelby for your car. That's probably the reason for the extensive delay. send them your cash and and get the project rolling, then you'll most likly see some progress. If you read the "terms and conditionds" form when you sent your initial deposit it states: the "initial cash deposit" is to reserve a vehicle for delivery. Within fifteen days of Shelby Cars giving written notification that Shelby automobiles is commencing production of the Shelby Cobra series component vehicle, sold under this purchase order, purchaser sall pay to Shelby Cars an additional non refundavle deposit equal to 25% of the purchase price bringing the total non refundable cash amount to 50% of the purchase price, the total cash deposit.
Dude!! Send them your second deposit!

Hope that this works out for you, hinds

TerrysSPF 01-03-2005 11:18 AM

Yeh Jdog.........what's the problem? Send in your hard earned money already will ya? Get that deposit up to 50% of the purchase price (and non-refundable!) and start kissing a little a$$ over at Shelby and you might get your car!
I frankly don't see what you're concerned about. So what if these cars have gone from being built in S. Africa.......to Vegas..... to Mexico, and their build times have gone from 4 months to over a year, and HST doesn't have any parts to build the cars with, and Shelby is saying he's loosing 6K a car and is thinking of raising the price, and CS doesn't have a care or a CLUE to what is going on over there......and seems he doesn't want to spend any money on the project or pay off his parts suppliers....and etc...etc...etc....

What are you waiting for????? Personally, I would pay for the car in FULL! That might get them to do something. I mean, people ARE getting their cars.........they're just a little behind schedule.
For the life of me, I don't know what you're so concerned about! This is nothing new.........business as usual isn't it?

In all seriousness.......I wish you the best and hope everything works out. I have a buddy in the same boat you're in.

jdog 01-03-2005 11:26 AM

No effect!

My second deposit is not the reason for the long delays. People who have sent in their 2nd also have not received cars, they are just out another $10,000! They are making and delivering these cars in order by #. They have been asking for my 2nd even though they are not delivering the cars that are before mine that have sent in their 2nd $10,000!
I'm just not ready to drop another $10,000 down a black hole!

jdog:(
P.S. When I see some cars being delivered, but not yet!

CSX 4039 01-03-2005 02:39 PM

Why does it take so long from Shelby, when KMP is posting threads that they have cars "available"? Why don't they just stamp them with CSX numbers instead of KMP numbers, and send them out the door?

??

Mark11 01-03-2005 08:59 PM

I am CSX4794 - one ahead of jdog. As soon as I saw that my car was started in Sept., I sent in my second deposit. Bottomline: no progress made after deposit paid. I hope this stops the speculation.

Love that all the SB-100 numbers are gone by tomorrow. My wait is moving to over 2 years.

Anybody want to buy a complete Gessford built Shelby Aluminum engine (CSX479) with a TKO 600 tranny and a spot in line just before jdog (CSX4794)? Into this for $55K so far. May sell at the right price.

Shelby should do something like that. They get the bodies and chassis for the aluminum CSXs from Kirkham anyway. Shelby should hire another Cobra manufacturer to build his cars and just handle the order end of it. The problem is Carroll's competitive nature, and strong desire to outdo and shut down all the other companies by making his own.

Because then.. they would not be an "extremely authentic vehicle."

The current delivery issues are with the 'glas cars...not with the alum ones.

Further, SA uses frame and body from KMP, not completed rollers.
SA then adds their own running gear, plumbing, wiring... literally everything else except the rails 'n skin.

A whole lot goes into the alum cars sourced at SA...it is not just a number stamping, by any means.

jdog 01-04-2005 12:48 PM

$47,000!

Mark,
The price for a fiberglass roller just went up. They are now: $47,000!
From the looks of things over at the Shelby owners form (from the latest pictures) I'm still about 25 cars out, OUCH! Haven't heard of any being delivered this week, have you?

jdog:(

P.S. Hang in there, with the way these things keep going up in price, you could have a gold mine on your hands!

Mark11 01-04-2005 01:45 PM

Jdog,

So my $55K in is now worth $62K? I feel better already.

Mark

REAL 1 01-04-2005 02:37 PM

If aluminum unfinished rollers are now $92K then completed used aluminum CSXs are now worth more. No?

Hmmmm. $130K sounds fair to me for a nice example.

hang in there

Rick Sparkman for Shelby is in the process of updating or installing new software. The site should be greatly improved when it is all said and done. Hang in there.
