average miles driven

:MECOOL:  I'm sure if I looked hard enough I could find a thread about average miles driven each year, but I'm to busy driving my SPF.That's the problem. I've had the car just a little over 3 months and already have about 1700 miles on it. I look for any reason at all to drive it. My insurance company said I would probably drive it alot at first. If they only knew. Am I strange or just average? Better yet, is the fact my vacation time is coming up and we are going to the classic races at Laguna Seca in Monterey. Is it obsession, or lust or both? Please advise me!!!!!:JEKYLHYDE

I think you are perfectly normal! Mine has been an obsession for 5 years now. I average about 3500 miles per year mostly on the track these days.

Have fun at the races.

I expect to have about 1000 track miles this year and could get at least 8000 street miles. I have already driven a 1600 mile round highway trip. Bad winter weather keeps my miles down in the Winter. In CA, you could drive all year around. Enjoy your car. Take some of the SCOF trips. The trip to Colorado is coming up in a few weeks. Enjoy.

By the way, Hal Copple probably holds the record for track and street miles in his SPF. I think that he is around 80000 miles now.

I will have mine for 2 years come July. I put 8500 miles on it. It was out of service for 4 months while I rebuilt the engine.:D

a little over a year now and she has only 1,700:confused: I think the one car garage and single wide driveway and shuffling the cars around to get the Cobra out makes for hard work so it sits under a cover and sleeps most of the time

The guy who built my Cobra thinks i'm driving the wheels off it, as i've put 1400 miles on it in the last 10 months.

The car has been on the road since 1989, and had 4,600 miles on it when i got it %/
