I would say plastic.
...using my favorite photo-'litmus' test for modern CSX cars, to tell if it is alloy or 'glas:

-no side-curtain door ferrules
...almost always means 'glas, unless it was highly-detailed by the owner.
The aluminum cars will always have them. (well. almost always. :-)

kris-kincaid 08-04-2007 08:30 AM

for sure 'glass. I can see the love built into the chassis. ;)

ENTDOC 08-04-2007 08:42 AM

thats too bad.

Allan A 08-04-2007 09:44 AM

The glass cars front fenders are almost parallel with the ground, the alum cars in the FIA do not look as good IMHO.

I've not seen that tire trick yet - they say "Goodyear" on the outside sidewalls, but "Hoosier" on the insides. Two different sets of tires, or does someone own a really nice stencil?

Allan A 08-04-2007 12:02 PM

767,

Man do you have an eye for detail, I would have never picked that up. I will be at the auction to verify.

Or maybe the pictures were taken at different times :p ;)

That's what I was thinking, either the guy has two different sets of tires or a really nicely done Goodyear stencil. I'm guessing that the pictures were taken at different times with different tires on the car. If it's a stencil job, there would be a hell of a market for the guy who did the work.

Doug,

My guess is two sets......

Sweet car, I have always been a sucker for the little brother cars. (289)

Excaliber 08-04-2007 09:44 PM

Eh, it's an also ran with antiquated 'buggy springs', I mean come on, how good could it be?

...bait set, waiting for a tug on the line, might catch me an Allan fish...

Very nice, I just recieved my guest passes today. Wonder when it will go on the block? Allan lets touch base. I plan on having lunch at the Baja Cantena on Friday and cruise the 17 mile drive area in the Cobra's. Historics on Saturday.
