External Slave Cylinder

Chris,

The Shelby external slave cylinder was mentioned in this thread: http://www.clubcobra.com/t52898.html

What brand/type is it and where is it mounted? I couldn't find mention of this cylinder on the carrollshelbyent website.

Thanks!

Tim

Tim,

The cylinder winds up being about 1/2" directly above the driver's side frame rail. It is a push-style setup, so the cylinder is on the engine side of the bellhousing. The actual cylinder is a Girling. All the bracketry is laser cut to Shelby's print. Included are:

- Slave Cylinder
- Block bracket
- Pushrod
- Return Spring
- Reinforcement bracket for use with stock bellhousing only.

Thanks for asking; I hope this helps!

To confirm, anyone with a Kirkham using this setup?

Someone mentioned having to do some modifications to the fork, but this kit which has been discussed as working correctly for CSX cars doesn't mention mention any fork changes that would be needed. Are there any clearance issues I should be concerned with on a Kirkham?

Brent,

The fork would need to be modified. The fork I have always used has triangle shaped "ears" out in the pushrod pocket. If you were to grind off the ear and contour the end to match the pocket, it will work fine.

Thanks Kris. Any chance you have a picture? That would be really helpful.

Thanks for sharing, everyone.

Chris, when I get closer to that point, I'll give you a call.

You guys wouldn't happen to have a picture of the fork installed showing why it needs to be modified a such? Just curious.
