Shelby block..starter clearance issues.

There have been a couple of friends here locally that have purchased Powermaster starters for their aluminum block but I'm hearing the block must be ground on some to make them fit. Is this normal? Does anyone make a starter that will bolt on without modifications? Really don't want to grind on my block.

Gary,

We use Tilton starters that do not require grinding. Also, I've heard reports from some of our dealers who have tried other brands of starters who say they are less reliable than the Tiltons.

Thanks!
