New book out on Shelby Oct/2010
 

Written by a California guy who I think actually raced against Shelby or was at least on the scene when Shelby was still a race driver.
I haven't seen it yet so can't given an opinion but here's the same ad blurb I got in a letter from the publisher, reproduced here without a word changed, so you "got to be first" guys can search from here...

I reckon it will be a terrific book, BUT, I sure get nervous when I see any new product advertised as "collectible". Perhaps it will be, in time...

Another pet peeve I hear far to often is "most accurate". :)

Collectible if it goes out of print fast
 

I would say a book could be called "collectible" if it had a small print run, say 1000 copies, and the publisher doesn't reschedule another printing when he runs out. But then you have to be careful, what if you were one of the ones who paid lots of bucks for an out of print copy of The Inside Story of the Fastest Fords thinking it must be out of print for 30 plus years and darned if they didn't reprint it. As far as most accurate, the writer of the book was there on the scene when Shelby was a race driver so has a little more info than those who were mere toddlers when Shelby was racing. I have the book but haven't had time to dig into it yet
