I don't think it's still been discovered yet what chassis it is. Ned doesn't know last I heard.

Thanks sunman and Larry :)
I'm doing some housekeeping of my Cobra picture files, and can't find anything yet on the gold "Dragginsnake" Cobra.

Cheers,
Glen

Rosen bought the car in 1965 from Bob Dayton, a WABC disc jockey. Bob was a New York rock DJ who came to WABC in 1963 and maybe bought the car new. He was fired Aug 6 1965 for saying Happy Birthday Hiroshima (anniversary of bombing) and playing “16 Candles”. I know people have checked the Shelby shipping list for Bobs name but inquiring minds wanna know. This is in Marty’s book about Motion

The only "Dayton" listed in the registry for owning a leaf spring car is George Dayton III of Florida. CSX2262 was his car.

So it’s narrowed down to a owners name withheld Shelby listing, shipped to the east coast, totaled to bad for Joel to fix car. I’m on it. You know that number is on a NY title or registration that was probably transferred to microfiche...and is sitting in that warehouse at the end of “Raiders of the Lost Ark”

Well it means that Motion Performance and whoever they sold the car to, never registered the car with SAAC. Yes, we know the car probably had a registration in NY, provided it was registered. Race cars are often sold with a Bill of Sale though and never driven on the street. I don't know if that was the case here but it's sure worth checking into if you have access to old registration files.

I tried to find the chassis number of my bosses old Cobra by searching his name and all vehicles he owned in AZ and CA. Both states basically told me to go screw myself!

Ideally, that's to be avoided :3DSMILE:

I appreciate the interest, gents. Sounds like we all have a similar interest in putting a CSX ID to a picture.
Maybe I need to get out more...? ;)

Cheers!

WABC rock DJ “Cousin Brucie” used to do drag races with Bob Dayton and the future Dragginsnake. It was Cadillac Firemist Red then.He is back broadcasting Sat from 6 to 10 pm on WABC. He’s 85! Rock n Roll!!! The Cobra had to be a big deal. I’m gonna call in on Sat maybe he remembers where Bob got it. It’s hot out I’m hangin in the AC surfin the web...
