Although AC Cars official records show that only complete chassis/body rollers were sold to Shelby American, Inc., what company bought 5 Cobra chassis from AC and for what purpose?

OK, based on this post, I watched "Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies" on A&E last night (9:15pm Central)

The move seemed to be based on a Monte Carlo rally somewhere in the early 20's maybe?

I'll post a picture that I have of one of the cars with psuedo Mercedes Benz bodywork. Kinda-sorta SSK like.

That particular car has been re-bodied as a 427 Cobra by AC cars.
