Daytona Coupes

The Shelby American Registry covers everything about the six original Daytona Coupes. There are also a couple of other books that have a lot of information about them. If you mean are there any replicas still available, Superperformance is going to release theirs in August if the testing of the prototype continues to go well. If you mean are any of the five originals that they can actually account for are available, maybe so but be prepared for a huge price.

Sorry I meant books available on the Daytona Coupes, sort of like the history books by various authors on Shelby's cobras

The must-have book on Daytonas is fittingly titled Daytona Cobra Coupes, by Pete Brock, Dave Friedman, et al. Published by Stauffer Publishing. Go to www.staufferclassics.com and click on "Publishing". It appears that you can still order the book directly from them. If not, here is a link to a seller who appears to have at least one used copy available: www.addall.com/Browse/Detail/0964819309.html

It is not cheap at $100 for the base copy ($400 for the limited edition signed by every surviving Shelby Team member, including several who have passed away in the interim since the book was first published), but it is a huge book that covers every aspect of the cars and contains many, many facts and anecdotes you won't find elsewhere. Highly recommended--

Snake I's.....

Last time I checked that book was backorderd on Amazon (at the $100 price) and when I called Stauffer directly all they sold was the signed $400 copy.

Woulda bought one at $100.

At $400......that equates to 2 Hoosiers!

The Brock book is the definitive work. The Bible, as it were. If you can't find the info in this one, you never will.

Outstanding Black and White photographs. Great writing. It should be placed in every hotel and motel bed stand across the country.

My lovely wife surprised me by ordering a copy for me when they were first published. She even went so far as to order the $400 version--what a gal. It comes in a slipcase, with its own Cobra "VIN plate" inside the cover, with the book's "serial number" engraved on it. My wife even picked a "significant" serial number for my book. #289/400 was taken, and only 400 were printed so there was no #427, but she managed to get # 65/400...

I would look high and low for a copy. That used one is a relative bargain at $80 if it is in decent shape--
