Texas race track question

Hi guys, just been rereading my "Shelby American Racing History" book by Dave Freidman and noticed a picture on pages 22 and 23. Its a picture of a starting grid at a Texas race in i think 1963. Don,t know the name of the track but if anyone knows which one and knows any history of this track or have memories of when the Cobras raced there we would all be interested. Paul

Paul,
Green Valley Raceway if I recall....long gone i understand. CS used to send the team there for the "folks at home" to see the Shebly team in action.

Green Valley Raceway lies under a new housing tract about 2 miles from here in the town of North Richland Hills. The drag strip was still there (unused) in the mid 90's.

Texas Classic was a race at Nassau Speed Week!

Hey Paul,
I just heard from someone on TNF that the "Texas Classic 5 lap race" was a race held during the Nassau Speed Week.
