Garrett, I daresay that your entrance to Club Cobra is greatly appreciated by one and all! Thanks again for sharing. Cheers! Dave |
Well done, gents. ;)

Hi Garrett, thanks for letting us see your film. Have you any memories of the Lang Cooper when it was in the Essex Wire Team. Paul
|
Welcome Garrett, I'm glad you decided to drop in and say hello. As soon as I heard what you had several months ago, I knew it could be important. When I actually saw what you had recently, I fell out of my chair.
It's incredibly generous of you for allowing it to be shared on a widespread basis as you have. Best regards, |
Garrett,
Thanks for sharing the film/video!! Ron, Thanks for getting them on the forum, and posting the clips! Brings back many memories of The Glen, back in the 60's... (time to look and see if any of those old 8mm movies from The Glen are still around) Jim Kellogg Breesport, NY |
Thank you, gentleman... seeing what it was like back in the day is awesome.
|
Fantastic content, thanks to all.

Bummer
Well, this thread inspired me to look for some early 70's super8's of CanAm racing at Laguna Seca. Good news, I found them. Bad news, I outsmarted myself years ago by having them transferred to BETAMAX:( Where am I going to find a Betamax in 2006?
|
I have one!
|
WOW, Thanks, guys!

Thanks for sharing Garrett. It shows a lot of class. How about a shot of the 63 ZO6?

Another real treat was to see footage of the Shelby Factory Race team...there at Pensacola with the Cobra 18-wheeler and all.
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ensacola7a.jpg There were two Comp 289s racing at that event: CSX2431, driven by Bob Johnson, wearing #98 and, CSX2494, driven by Tom Payne, #96 It is worth noting that Payne and Johnson finished First and Second in GT Class that weekend http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ensacola6a.jpg Garrett said that the team from Shelby was the nicest bunch of guys, ever...they treated them like part of the factory team throughout the whole weekend. Here is a great clip of first Bob Johnson, then Tom Payne, making a fuel stop...Pit stop... |
Definately enjoyed watching the clips and am looking forward to the DVD.[now I have to buy a player!]Love the older racing movies that was when racing was more of a run what you brung and alot more innocent,no mega dollars there!STan
