Archival Photo help

Hi everyone,

I'm assisting on a new coffee table style book, The Complete Book of Shelby and need help tracking down photos of cars, advertising and promotional materials. I'm having trouble with some of the more obscure cars Shelby had to do with, like the 427 Dragonsnake, Daytona Super Coupe, "Super Snake" Twin Paxton Cars and the "Flip Top" Cobra. Along with things like the Green Hornet and Big Red Prototypes, '69 Shelby Trans Am Race Cars, Shelby De Mexico, Shelby Maverick, Lone Star And The Shelby Can Am Cougar Cobra, M6 McLaren Can Am, And the '89 Shelby Can Am Spec Racer.

If anyone has anything or could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Cana

You might consider posting this on Team Shelby's forum (www.teamshelby.com/forums) and Stang Mafia (www.stangmafia.com/forum) too.

Is this one you're looking for?

It's at the Shelby show at their Las Vegas factory.

Actually, you might want to check out my photobucket album here:

It has some photos of the '80's Dodges too. They are certainly part of the legacy.

Thanks for the leads. And yeah, we're including the Dodges in the book. As it's the Complete Book of Shelby, we're trying to include anything Shelby touched.

You're not kidding. Every time we thought the list was complete, someone remembered another car!

I don't know about all that but the Shelby Dodges and the Toyota 2000GT, so that's about the same thing, right?

Who is the publisher? What is the date it will be in tehe stores?

If we know who the publisher is, we can envision how big a coffee table we need to hold this tome which I imagine will weigh 4-5 lbs.

If you post your address I can send a promotional poster.

By the way, don't forget to include Shelby tires--I've got the ad, they existed, but never heard of them again.

Are you going to include the DeTomaso 70P as a DeTomaso or half Shelby project since Shelby instigated it, just backed out before it was done...

Shelby Can Am Cobra

Hi,

I see your old post looking for info on odd Shelbys.
I own the 1967 Shelby Can Am Cobra and have a ton of photos and history if you are still interested.
