Shell Valley Foot Box

I just bought a Shell Valley Cobra that was built in the early 90's and has a 302 witha C-4 auto. I am looking to put in a T-5 trans. The foot box area looks kind of tight for an extra pedal. The pedal box from Shell Valley is $429.00! Are there less expensive ones out there? Will one from a 1990 mustang work? I would like to keep it simple and retain the cable actuated clutch. My car doesn't have a roll bar and I would like to add one. Is that hard to do with the body on the car, not sure if there are mounts needed to be welded to the frame.

Thanks for any help,

Greg

There are brackets that will need to be welded to the frame. They probably could be welded on if the car was up on a lift.

Greg I belive it would be a lot easyer to step up to the pay window with all the parts that work togather am not real familer with the 90 mustang set up but belive it is to wide & you would have trouble with the brake bias also. They make a cable setup as well as a hydraulic for the clutch. As for the roll bar belive you can weld brakets on with the fuel tank out. If you decide to take the Roll bar on measure 4 times:LOL: cut once (use a hole saw) that way when the 3rd leg doesn't quite fit you have something to fill around it.
PS call Finsh Line for the SS grommets around the Bars

I am currently redoing a shell valley car as well, get your self a jegs or summit catalog, floor mounted pedals arent that expensive and will look much more correct,I have the sv set up which I am moving from the top mount to the floor, the setup is simple and wouldnt be hard to fab if you can cut and weld,an extra master cylinder and swinging assembly should be all you need.I would steer away from the mustang set up,for the same amount of work, you can do something that looks much better.
There is enough space if there in the right place, just takes some trial and error to get the angles and spacing correct.
I also suggest getting all the cobra parts books, finnish line, cobra restorers ,etc, lots of the parts are sold in components.
good luck,,Tk

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will probably shell out the money to Shell Valley and get their assembly since it is designed for the car.

Can't wait to get rid of that slush box!

Greg
