AC pedals on stock Shell Valley assembly?
I'm curious to see if any SV owners out there have ever discovered a set of AC pedals that can be adapted to the standard VW/Audi type pedal assembly that comes with the SV kit? I am looking for some type of pedal to adapt to my Shell Valley - any ideas? (Feel free to chime in Shell Valley!)

Brad, I have a Shell Valley.....I didn't use the SV pedals, but I used Wilwood pedals. I bought the AC pedal pads and then drilled and tapped the Wilwood pedal arms and just used the existing holes in the pads (for the little rubber inserts) to mount them. Looks good.

brad,
i didn't really like the SV pedals either, so i purchased the AC pedals, ground off the VW pedals and installed the AC pedals. was not really impressed with the final look so made some aluminum covers for the pedal "arms". i think it looks pretty good, it was not hard and it was inexepensive. before and after pics are im my gallery if you care to look. good luck , outlaw |
Hmm, mine are all aluminum. Must have changed the design a bit.

I used the ac pedals on the SV setup, and flipped it over and mounted it from the floor,,it is turning out nice,,took a bit of time but it was cheap,Tim

I bought AC pedals from The Finish Line. I cut the flange off the SVC pedal arms and I cut slots in the mounting hubs of the ACs. A clevis pin holds the pedal to the arm. I also thought the SVC pedals were hokey...especially with the VW rubber pads! I can send pix if desired.

can you send me a pic of what you did been thinking of the same thing, you will save me some time thanks mike mpbp43@outdrs.net |
Dave, Please send me some pics - I still have yet to solve my dilemma, and you have aroused my interest again! Thanks, Brad

Brad,
What's your email address? I'm having trouble attaching a pic to this. I can send via direct email. Basically I modified the SV arms, cut slots in the hubs on the back of the pedals and drilled holes for clevis pins. Dave |
My e-mail address is bscottlong@webtv.com - sorry, I forget to tell people these things from time to time! I think I understand what you described, but how did you cut the slots in the AC pedals? Did you have them machined, or did you do it yourself? Thanks for the tip - I think I'm going to buy a set and try it! Brad

Attn. Dave Bermani,
If you still have a copy of the pictures you have of the pedal modifications, would appreciate a copy. Thanks. JL1924 email: JL1924@optonline.net |
Brad - Just saw your posting, several months later. Did you find a solution yet?
I used some new FRPP pads, that just happened to fit perfectly, and look great. Let me know if you'd like photo's. |
