Shell Valley Power Brakes

Hi Fellow Shell Valley Cobra owners!! Has anyone installed power brakes on a SV. I know nothing about power brakes so any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Is it a lot of work and time?
Costly?
Complicated?

Terry, you think you need it?

The different between manual and power brakes is that you use a brake booster that works off of engine vacuum.

You probably wouldn't use a booster (they're kinda large) for each front and rear brake sets....so you'd probably have to go from two individual master cylinders with a balance bar to one master cylinder pushing a brake booster....and then you'd have to put a proportioning valve in.

The only thing that would concern me about a Shell Valley is room to mount the booster. I know I couldn't do it because I have floor mounted pedals....but there might be enough room up on top of the footbox in the SV position to mount a booster. Shoot, the SPF guys do it...you should be able to also.

How big of a cam do you have? How much vacuum does it pull? You may have a problem with running power brakes....

Why are you switching?

Brent, I am not switching yet, I was just thinking about what it would take to put in power brakes! You know how we are always looking for ways to upgrade our babies! The brakes work fine as they are now!!

If you are looking to lighten up the pedal a bit you can also try to use smaller diameter master cylinders. I think there was a discussion on the forums a while back, you could do a search for it.
