Trigo Blemish

I recently purchased a set of Trigos that are blemished. I haven't seen them yet but Lynn Park told me that the wheel centers on the front and back wheels have slightly different shades of gray. I was going to bring one from the front and one from the back to an autobody and fender supply in west hampton new york called goodfellas and have them try to match the colors on the centers. I plan on picking one of the shades of gray on the wheels, having them match it with the computer and painting the other set to match. I have a gravity feed gun and experience painting. I have a quart of charcoal satinbrite from my old harley but it's metallic paint and that might be too flashy. If anyone had any experience with matching the paint, I would appreciate that info. When I first went to match the harley paint (in 1996 Harley had not begun to offer the paint in a can), the computer showed 1989 Lexus grey, which was pretty much a dead match, hopefully the grey I like on the Trigos is like a Ford Gun Metal grey or something that I can share with anyone who is planning on saving a few bucks like i did (emphasis on few)!! If there is enough interest, I will share the before and after photos.

I think they look better painted a satin black - something to consider.

Call Snakepit Automotive in Freeport and talk to Bill, Danny or Nick and they can advise you. Better yet, if you have never been there, come down on a Saturday morning and see his inventory and look at some of the installs/modifications being done. If you need directions call: 516-771-8090.

Frankym,
I also bought a set of Lynn's blems for my slicks and he can give you the paint # to match either the dark or light wheel. The paint is made by plasticoat. As it turns out, that unless you are going to show the car, the colors are so close that nobody will ever notice the difference. In the end I just left mine as they were.

Cheers, Pete C

Mike-
Checked out the pics in your gallery. It looks like you've got the interior fully installed. How was it? Any problems?

When I bought my Trigos from ERA last year, the greys were markedly different, so much so that after I brought them home, I agonized about the mismatched color for a few weeks.

In the end, I figured that, hey, I'm paying $2800 for a product and the paint should match. I called Peter at ERA, and he graciously offered to repaint the centers for free. He acknowledged that most of the Trigos have this problem; some people notice, some don't. . .

I'm curious as to why, if Lyn knows he has been shipping wheels with different colored centers, he doesn't correct the problem.

Chaplin,
Installing the electrical was easy, when I first fired it up I had to reverse the amp meter and, reverse the tail lights other than that all is good.
The carpet however was a little challenging but it all came out great...
I am now just playing the waiting game for Gessford machine to finish my S.A. Aluminum 427!!
