Fitting brake/Air vent covers (mesh)

Does anyone have suggestions on fitting the aluminum mesh vent covers? I just purchase a set from Finishline, and they will need some "molding".

I first covered the holes with duct tape, so not to scratch the paint, but it was too difficult.

I thought of making a mold so I could form the vents over the mold.

??

I did the same thing Hank just indicated. Used a paint stirring stick and a couple of rubber bands to hold it in place. I also painted mine flat black for what that's worth.

Same here. Mount it to the back of the opening. Moulded and trimmed it till it just fit, masking taped the body edges so I wouldn't get silicone on it, used black silicone (just a small bead) around the grille rim, and used a paint stick and a couple of screws to hold it in place while it cured. Looks and holds great.

Also cut up an aluminum mesh screen door guard for a hood scoop grille. Installed the same way.
