Who makes billet cam cores ?
Who makes billet cam cores ?
I'm working with Isky for their valvetrain but, they want a solid cam core to grind. (don't know why) I know most company's like CompCams, do not make them, they just do grinding. By the way, look at Isky's newer "EZ-ROLL" needle free, lifters. http://www.iskycams.com/pdf/2-ISKYCa...Page%2029).pdf |
Callies. Saw hundreds of them sitting there. Doubt they will sell any to you though. They make them for most cam manufacturers.
|
That's the issue. Isky does not have a cam for the FE, so they need a blank to grind themselves. They want the entire valvetrain to be Iskys.
You would think,.... they would have some company to deal with, but I guess it's up to me. **) I really like their lifters. ;) |
try lee holman, they do cam grinding he may have a source for you

Try Crower Cams!

There seems to be a problem getting a lot of cores right now. I would assume that Isky is having a hard time getting cores like other companies are right now. Ask them if they can regrind a camshaft that is already made. This may be an option or just get your camshaft from someone that has cores.
Good luck, Keith Craft |
I'll check into all that's listed.
Just talked with Bob at Callies. Their in the process right now,.... of producing a core but, they can's find a plan. Ford is trying to locate one for them. Even if they had the plan, their still out apx. 8 weeks. I guess Crane did not keep a lot of plans themselves, so Callies is having a hard time with some of the cam plans. Sounds like Crower has some on order. Thanks. |
Kev....try Crane....or go SBC...hahaha
|
Actually, since I'm one that,...dares to b different, I should put a Hemi, in the car.

Just talked with John of Howard's Camshafts and they do have a FE mechanical roller, 280 @ 50/410, apx. 700 + lift. Enough meat to custom grind. $121.99.
I have call in for Richard at Isky's. What do you guys think of Howard's mechanical roller cam's & valvertrain, including rockers ? Haven't heard much. Does T & D still beat them and most others ? (maybe besides Crower) |
Camshaft, Shmamshaft!!! Everybody knows that the real horsepower is in flywheels and oil pumps. That is where you should put your money.
