How do you paint a ceramic coated sidepipe?

Do I need to sand it down or just spray some high heat paint?

Dean, I used a plasti cote high temp product but Krylon also makes a good one. I have ceramic coated headers. I did not sand them but I did use a scratch pad. Then sprayed. When you start the car for the first time it will bake the paint on and mine look like new. Easy touch up too.

Sorry Dean , I went and checked and it is Dupli-color that I used. It has ceramic in it good to 1200 degrees.

I also had good luck with Dupli-Color over ceramic coating when I had a car with white pipes. Make sure it is clean so you dont rub impurities into it, then just sand lightly with fine grit, about 400, (or Scotchbrite) enough to dull it. It runs easy so do 2 thin coats. Too thick and it may flake on first burn in. Not a big deal because once it is cured by heat, to touch up you can sand lightly and re-spray a small area.
