Fuel line. Tank to fuel filter, canister to pump ?
I want to make a new fuel system. I have a hard line coming out of the gas tank. I have the Canton canister fuel filter and a RobbMc Performance fuel pump. I need to run a 1/2 (AN # 8 or 10) from the gas tank to the canister in port, then out to the fuel pump. What is best to accomplish this ?
Is there a compression fitting that can be attached to the hard line, then to a fuel hose to the filter ? I will mount the filter on the frame. I'm a little concerned about using 45 & 90 degree AN fittings. Will they restrict the flow ? This 4" high CM Remote Canister Fuel Filter has our 2-5/8" tall 8 micron element for extra high flow. This filter features housings made from a light weight 3-1/4" aluminum square extrusion, 1-1/16" -12 straight o-ring ports, and a removable top cap that allows for easy and mess free element replacement. The filter has a red anodized body and a clear anodized end cap. A stainless steel T-bolt mounting clamp is included. In the future, if you want to change it to a return regulator for use with an electric pump, you can purchase the conversion kit. |
Any advise ?

for your request about a compression fitting to attack to a fuel hose---just clamp the hose on the hard line---or you can get a hyd hose place to do a crimp end --

Run two filters, a 40 micron on the pump inlet (to protect the pump). Then place your 8 micron as close as possible to the carb.
The gas tank can shift around slightly, so I'd run AN braided between the pump/filter and tank. The hard line would crack over time. The tube style AN fittings won't effect flow, the cast ones (low clearance) will. |
Thanks buddy, I did find what I need from Speedway Motors.

Speedway, Summit, Jegs, Batinc all have the fittings and adapters you need. They'll list them as full flow or short radius in the hydraulic books. Either will work in your application.
