Side pipe question, Please??????????

Has anyone used a digital thermometer to measure the temperature of the side pipes during normal operation? I am curious as to what the actual running temp. is on the side pipes? Is it less than 200 degrees, 200 to 300 degrees, 300 to 400 degrees, or more?

Thanks, Earl

Yes it will, but what I am asking for is side pipe temp after the exhaust gas has gone through the headers and collectors and then reached the side pipe chamber..what has it cooled down to in the side pipes?? I was wondering if anyone had pointed a digital thermometer at the side pipes while the engine was running??...Thanks, Earl
