Frozen seat

Hi.. I'm looking at a used Superperformance. The adjustable seat seems to be frozen in place as far back as it can go. The dealer and I searched for anything that could have locked it in place, but can't find anything and we gave up pushing and pulling while raising the adjustment lever for fear of breaking the seat. Is there any way to get the seat to slide forward? Perhaps some kind of pry bar behind to push forward. I'm 6ft and with seat all the way back it's difficult to take this baby out for a test run

Thanks in advance!

Is there a seat adjustment handle under the seat?

It's possible (common mod) that the original owner removed the rails completely and bolted the seat direcly to the floor to allow for maximum room.

If the rails are in place and the adjuster handle is visible, you may have to disassemble it to check it out. If the rails have been removed, you can buy new rails from Hillbank.

Maybe you can rig something up so you can test drive the car. Good luck.

Try pushing it to the left or outboard, that is the way mine works. Slide the seat while holding it out. All the adjusters that are sold at Summit or Jegs work the same way.

Thanks to you both.. I'll go back to the seller and check if moving it to the outboard while sliding forward works. If I recall it looks like rails are in place. Perhaps the mechanism has siezed?
