draining trunk compartment

Has anyone done anything that was sucsesful in draining water out of the trunk? If you drilled a couple of holes did they pull road spray back into the trunk? Possibly a nipple or vent? What have you done in this area? Also if you sealed the lid did you have any problems?

You can always go to your local marine store & buy a bildge pump. It is about 2.5 ft long X 1.5 in diameter and is uaually grey in color.

Michael,

You might think about getting one or two nylon bulkhead fittings with barbed hose fittings on the back. Place them in the lowest part of the trunk, one on the left, the other on the right. Then use short pieces of tubing attached to each pointing down. It might work. The hose could be routed to a low part of the chassis and be placed in an area that won't get splashed while driving.

Simple answer

***THE TEN STEP PROCESS TO REMOVE TRUNK WATER*****

1) Drill one tiny (1/16") hole through your trunk and straight out the back parallel and even with the trunk floor.

2) Get in car.

3) Start car.

4) Put in first gear.

5) Push throttle to the floor.

6) Release clutch pedal while depressing throttle.

7) Shift gears accordingly.

8) Hold on while water sprays all over the cars behind you.

9) Apply brake.

10) Pay for ticket.:D

the old 911 have a nice feature to let water out of the fender below the front and rear lights, but do not let any water back in.

i can't explain, but you may check at your local porsche dealer. the parts cost three times nothing.

dominik, germany - with 220 days of rain every year ...
