Side pipes mounting specs?
I'm in the process of mounting my sidepipes and was wondering , "how close should the mufflers be so as not to blister the fiberglass?" I'm building my own headers so I'd like to get the sidepipes in place then build from there. Any help would be appreciated. Don.

Just measured mine. The distance between the header pipes and the body opening varies between 3/4" to 1". The mufflers are parallel to the body and about 1-1/4" from the body. I used spacers to get them the same from side to side. Hope this helps.

Polished stainless steel pipes get hotter than coated steel, so they need to be spaced a little further away from the body.

My SPF is the same as Rodger’s. Maybe the header is only 7/8” from the fiberglass body as it exits the body before it goes into the larger part of the side pipes. The larger size of the side pipes is 1.25”, just like Rodger’s.
