A question on heaters
I have installed a heater in my Johnex but I haven't hooked up the hoses yet. What type of valve do you use to cut off the coolent flow. I have already installed AN fittings on the heater since I plan on using all AN fittings and hose.
I want a cutoff valve that works well but also something that doesn't look out of place. A ball valve from the hardware store will work but it is not being considered, because of it's looks. Regards, Wayne |
You might try Vintage Air. I hooked up a manual carb cable to open and close the valve from inside the cockpit.

Vintage Air web site is http://www.vintageair.com
You might want to order a catalog. |
Would attach photo but mine is from same source, looks the same, and works just fine. Virtually any manual valve with the right size hose ends, usually 5/8", will work and can be had from your local auto supply store too.
The valve you don't want to use is a vacuum valve. It's either on, or off, and car is then too hot, or too cold. |
Thanks guys. I will order a catalog from vintage air.
Someone always comes through with an answer here at CC. Regards Wayne |
