Removable Steering Wheel

I suspect that there isn't much written in the (street legal) vehicle code about removable steering wheels but it isn't much of a stretch to guess what the authorities would think of this. That issue aside for a moment, has anyone converted a fixed wheel with a removable? Basic welding but there's the alignment issue to think about. How much of a project is this and is there a particular component that is especially liked? I'm looking for a rugged install, of course, and something that will render the vehicle that much more difficult to steal (with the wheels cranked over to full lock).

I have the NRG thin removeble steering hub - and I love it :)

I can recommend the thin version if you dont want the steering wheel closer to your chest.

Theft Protection was my key reason, but I remove it also when cover the cockpit for rain and when "working" under dash. ( + you can have your moto lita And a leather steering wheel for easy change)

It is not street legal, but you cant see it, and it is safe and easy to use...

google - also on how to do.... it is "easy"
