team 3 wheels/dish look?

I am working on my second cobra and would like some info on the look of the dish/back-spacing on the team 3 wheels. I currently have true wire wheels that have a 5 inch backspace on rear and 4 inch on front. The team 3 wheel doesn't look like it has much of a deep dish look. Should I go ahead and order the 5-inch back spacing or do I re-measure using team 3 instructions?

Rog,

It depends upon whether you're keeping the same wheel width and tire size. Given the same tire size and only a small change in width, I would keep the relationship between the mounting face and the outside edge of the wheel the same.
If you're going to increase the tire width quite a bit, you may have to compensate by moving the centerline of the wheel in.

Also have a CR with 351W, Comp hydraulic roller, TFS heads, T-5, 4 wheel disk brakes. Wheel & tire selection was about 2 years worth of comparison shopping.

I've got Team III's and I like them. Have digital shots if you'd like. Got 17" x 8" front, 4" backspacing; 17" x 9 1/2" rear, 5" backspacing. Replaced 15" x 8" with 4" backspacing and left all the settings & relationships the same. Could have used 4 3/4" backspacing on rears to place the wheel centerline directly on the mounting flange face. $300 apiece for the TIII's vs $500 apiece for Compomotives.

Expected the 17's to look a little odd, out of place on a Cobra but wanted performance characteristics of what was available in 17" tires. Setup looks factory.

Front tires are 235/45ZR17, rears are 275/40ZR17. After reading all the consumer feedback on tirerack.com, the tires I expected to be right for this car (BFG Comp T/A's, Dunlop, Pirelli, Yokohama)weren't, and ones I would never have considered were. Bridgestone RE730's & Falken FK451's were final contenders for best wet & dry traction. Around $650 for the set of Bridgestones, vs just under $500 for the Falkens. Paid $113/$134 apiece for them from vulcantire.com and they stick like glue. I couldn't believe the difference between these and the 15" BFG T/A's I took off.
