Jag Yoke Options
I am looking for the best option for yoke on a Jag rear end. The original includes a flange which I think CWI sells an attached yoke. I currently have a yoke by "Mr. Roadster" which installs in place of the flange unit, but uses a smaller universal.
Are there other yokes available that are heavy duty and use large universal joints? I have heard that the diff uses Dana 44 gears. I wonder if a late model corvette or some 4WD application (with Dana 44) would work? Any ideas? |
I dunno about yokes, but quoting from a series of articles on the Jag rear end from Street Rodder magazine, 1995:
""This is the same Dana 44 used in GM 4-wheel drive trucks since the early 1960s and 20 other car manufacturers world wide." The article also mentions that standard USA nuts and threads are used in the internals. Dan |
Best place
Hey,
The best place to have all of your questions answered is Randy's Ring and Pinion. www.ring-pinion.com or 425.347.1440 I talked to him about redoing my Jag with Traction Lok for my Mid-States. He knew what he was talking about, plus he only wanted half as much to change the gears and refresh the carrier as a shop here in KC. I will be sending my center section/pumpkin to him after the first of the year. Smoke 'em if you got 'em, tires that is. :D |
