Gauge Placement
Does anyone have info (measurements or pictures) about the exact placement of the gauges on the original 427 Cobras? I have decided on the layout with the tachometer on the left of the steering wheel. I'm wondering where the original headlight, iginition, and other switches were placed, I've only seen pictures of toggles switches near the bottom center of the dash. Thanks a lot!!! -Steve

Both are very good sites. However, maybe it was just me but several of the links on http://cobratrader.com/html/cobraownersmanual.html did not work for me.
I assume that the dash layouts for the cars for non-UK were an exact mirror image as those shown on http://users.pipeline.com.au/bryanw/...g_an_authe.htm |
On the Instrument layout, gauges and switches (page 5/15) of http://users.pipeline.com.au/bryanw/...g_an_authe.htm it mentions a "Hooter". I'm not sure what this is on my car. (I can correctly identify these on my wife however). I'm sure that having this feature on my car must be desireable. Can anyone give a hand here?

I don't give a hoot!
..... but my guess would be the horn

If the car is gonna have one hooter, shouldn't it have two? You know, one for the driver, one for the passenger? ; )
Thanks for all the help! |
